As an employer, we provide over 300 nursing, technologist, and support staff jobs. As a local business, we pay federal, state, and local taxes, including property and income taxes, which support economic development, our schools, and other public services.
OVSH continues to support the city of Springfield’s downtown revitalization. In addition to our 50,000-square foot hospital and 31,000 square foot Medical Building, we continue to add healthcare services and new jobs to the heart of our city. The Dayton Business Journal 2022 Book of Lists ranked Ohio Valley as the 2nd Busiest Facility in Outpatient Surgery in the Miami Valley, behind Miami Valley Hospital. This is the 10th year Ohio Valley has been in the top three Busiest Facilities in Outpatient Surgery in the Miami Valley.
The Ohio Valley Breast Center has earned the ACR gold seal of accreditation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. This means that the Breast Center at Ohio Valley meets the highest standards for imaging quality and safety, voluntarily going through a rigorous review process to ensure that we meet nationally accepted standards of care. Our team is well-qualified to perform medical imaging, interpret images and administer radiation therapy treatments, and equipment is appropriate for the test or treatment.
Throughout our first decade, Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital has earned multiple top 5-Star ratings for Quality, Patient Satisfaction and Patient Experience as awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Approximately 90% of patients surveyed would recommend us to their family and friends.
Ohio Valley is proud to announce it has received the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence award again; receiving this award from 2017 through 2020. The American College of Radiology awards accreditation to healthcare facilities achieving high standards after a peer-review evaluation of its practice. Image quality and procedure evaluations are conducted by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field. The accreditation program also evaluates personnel qualifications, facility equipment adequacy, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
The Ohio Valley Breast Center has earned the ACR gold seal of accreditation in Mammography, which represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists. The Ohio Valley Breast Center has been recognized as a Pink Ribbon Facility to provide excellent breast health and show exceptional commitment and support to the women in our community.
