Physical Therapy

Taking Your Recovery a Step Further

Getting you back to a normal and healthy lifestyle after your surgery is the first priority of the Ohio Valley Physical Therapy team. Our licensed physical therapists and physical therapy assistants work in collaboration with your surgeon to provide you with a complete continuum of care.  A specialized physical therapy program will be designed for you to restore mobility, reduce pain, and increase strength and endurance.

Your physician may also recommend physical therapy following an injury or for long-term health problems.  Our goal is to help patients achieve their optimal level of physical performance and functional independence.  Our comprehensive outpatient therapy services also include performance conditioning and therapy for athletes and "weekend warriors"...to help you get back in the game!

Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital offers a new, state of the art physical therapy facility featuring large private treatment rooms and an open functional performance area.  Highly skilled therapists and top of the line technology and equipment, in a modern and beautifully appointed facility, combine to provide our patients with exceptional care and service.

Ohio Valley’s physical therapy program specialties include:

  • Post-surgical therapy
  • Joint dysfunction therapy
  • Work injury therapy
  • Athletic injuries
  • Low back and neck pain
  • Post-acute stroke therapy
  • Balance disorders
  • Chronic pain
  • Gait instability
  • Cardiovascular conditioning
  • "Bridging the Gap" From Physical Therapy to Full Recovery and Performance
At Ohio Valley Sports Medicine, we offer a special program to help patients "bridge the gap" between Physical Therapy and recovery/performance. After discharge from Physical Therapy, some patients may not be 100% ready to return to full function, recreational activities and sports. Our Bridge Program offers additional strength training, improvement in range of motion and ongoing guidance for patients who have completed their Physical Therapy. Our goal at Ohio Valley Sports Medicine is to bring patients back to their full strength, a stronger mental state and overall improved fitness.
